Kate and Jules on Blu Ray in 'Hamlet' ***stars

1996: Julie Christie had all but disappeared from acting on film. her own choice as she had given up on the 'hollywood life'. kate was a year away from her major star turn in 'titanic' and one year past her first oscar nom  for 'sense and sensibility'. then ophelia and gertrude met on the set of 'hamlet'. they are reason enough to watch this at times oddly cast kenneth branagh vanity production. jack lemmon and billy crystal? indeed!

however it is to mr. branagh's credit that he got miss christie out of her self imposed sabbatical.

yet the screen comes alive when winslet and christie grace it with their unlimited talent. and act the hell out of their respective roles.

they would work together again in the more popular and in my opinion better 'finding neverland'. they compliment each other brilliantly. although i was a bit taken aback that jules could play kate's mother. where did the time go? and they became fast friends to boot.

i own because they are in it. i leave the renting or owning to you. if you are a fan of either of these ladies give it a definite go.

starting today this site will also include the most poetic actress ever...julie christie. julie has always been a favorite of mine and has the longest standing on my favorite list. where others have come and gone i have always remained steadfast in my admiration of julie's talent. she never fails. she disappears from film often for long stretches of time but always comes back as radiant as ever and reminding us why we missed her so much.

rather than start another blog i am opting to have kate share her blog. thanks kate. it's difficult to dedicate an entire blog to one actress unless they release a new film every week. i only wish!

and needless to say kate has no problem sharing this space with her 'finding neverland' and 'hamlet' co-star. so welcome julie.

needless to say there will be some construction changes coming in time. thanks for your patience.

Kate Winslet, Indian actress Aishwarya Rai and Taiwanese model Chi-ling Lin film a commercial for Swiss watchmaker Logines‘ DolceVita collection on Tuesday (July 20) in Rome, Italy.

The commercial is reportedly based on the 1960 drama Fellini's 'La Dolce Vita'.
